If you offer your users the possibility to order certain emails or your newsletter on your website or with a plugin (or also on social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Xing, Pinterest, etc.), you must describe the double opt-in procedure in your privacy policy.

You must also specify the legal basis on which you process the newsletter data. Please note that the legal basis for the consent to receive your newsletter does not yet entitle you to use a third party newsletter provider such as MailerLite.

Because MailerLite does much more than just send a mail. Rather, the tool also allows advanced statistics such as the open rate, the click rate and much more. This is regularly done via so-called web beacons, which track the behavior of users. According to the current prevailing opinion, this can be justified by your legitimate interests in advertising (provided that all other requirements of the GDPR are met).
