Modern all-in-one management instead of SaaS solutions - with Max Mika

🎧 This article is based on our podcast episode #124 which you can listen to here

In this episode of the VisualMakers Podcast, we had the pleasure of speaking with Max Mika, founder of Remote Verlag. Max is not only a pioneer in the publishing industry, but also an example of how to successfully run a business with modern technologies like no-code. And we were able to build modern software for him to manage his publishing house and his authors.

The origins of Remote Verlag

Max Mika founded Remote Verlag with the vision of being able to work remotely and build a successful company at the same time. The publishing house focuses on the publication of guides and non-fiction books, particularly in the areas of personal development, leadership and business. This focus reflects Max's passion for self-employment and entrepreneurship, which he developed during his sports studies in Cologne.

A decisive factor for the success of Remote Verlag was the decision to rely on no-code technologies. This decision was made after a less successful collaboration with a PHP developer. Max realized that no-code offered a future-proof solution that would allow him to maintain control of his projects even in the event of a developer failure.

The role of No-Code and the collaboration with VisualMakers

A central project of Remote Verlag is the "Remote Sales" platform, which we had the pleasure of developing at VisualMakers. This platform serves both the authors and the employees of the publishing house. It offers authors a dashboard that clearly displays sales figures, turnover and advertising expenditure. For employees, the platform is a tool for product maintenance and synchronization with distributors.

Particularly noteworthy is the automation of billing, which was previously manual and error-prone. By integrating tools such as Eledo for automated PDF creation and Make for process automation, Remote Verlag was able to significantly increase its efficiency.

Future plans and growth

Remote Verlag is on course for growth. With a dynamic & flexible employee structure and an optimized offer structure, the company has found a new product-market fit. Max plans to further develop the platform to make it even more efficient and offer authors additional features, such as API integration for CRM systems.

Conclusion

The success of Remote Verlag shows that visual development with no-code can be a decisive competitive advantage for young companies. It makes it possible to automate complex processes while remaining flexible and independent. Max's story is an inspiration for anyone thinking of starting up and digitizing their business processes.
