Till worked with data and databases for almost a decade before discovering his passion for no-code. In the episode, he shares his insights on why companies are still hesitant to implement no-code and low-code and how these technologies can revolutionize the future of data analysis and processing.

From spreadsheets to data visualization: Till's journey into the world of data

Till's fascination with technology began at a young age. The advent of the internet at the end of the 90s sparked his enthusiasm for digital solutions. Together with his friends, he built websites for companies that did not yet have the resources and expertise to do so themselves.

He discovered his passion for data while studying business informatics in Münster. He recognized the potential of data early on and worked as an SQL developer before moving into consulting for data analysis and business intelligence after graduating.

taod and the art of data

After a few years in consulting, Till moved to the digital agency Kernpunkt. After a few years, taod emerged from this. taod focused on consulting in the entire data context, from analysis to visualization. It was always important to Till to take business users with him and make the results of the data analysis understandable and accessible to them. He therefore focused early on tools that could be used visually and intuitively and with which things could be implemented without complex programming.

Till's first no-code project - the taod Time Tracker

One example of this is the taod Time Tracker. This tool arose from the need to simplify time recording in the company and make it more transparent. Till used the no-code tools Bubble and Make to develop a prototype that could map the complex processes of time recording. The taod Time Tracker was later adopted and professionalized by one of our developers, Luka. Today, it is a popular tool used by the consultants at taod. You can find the case study and a podcast episode with Luka here and here.

A new adventure with a focus on no-code

After eight years at taod, Till decided to take on a new challenge. He had already gotten to know VisualMakers through the projects with taod and was enthusiastic about our team, the corporate culture and the focus on no-code. At the beginning of the year, he wrote a LinkedIn message to Alex and Lilith with the offer to join VisualMakers.

The enthusiasm for No-Code was great on both sides and so it came about that Till is now part of our team as Head of Operations.

Till's vision: no-code and low-code for a data-driven future

Till sees incredible potential in no-code and low-code to help companies become more data-driven and efficient. He believes that these technologies can help to lower the barriers to using data and involve more people in the company in data analysis and processing

Till's three points on how no-code and low-code are shaping the future of companies:

Data democratization: No-code and low-code make it possible to make data analysis and processing accessible to more people. Business users can build their own applications without having to rely on the IT department.

‍Process optimization: Complex processes can be simplified and automated with no-code and low-code. This allows companies to save time and resources and make their processes more efficient.

‍Integrationof data and AI: No-code and low-code offer the opportunity to integrate data and artificial intelligence into applications without time-consuming programming. This makes it easier for companies to exploit the potential of AI.

What makes a good no-code or low-code tool?

For Till, the most important points when choosing a no-code or low-code tool are:

User experience: The interface must be appealing and intuitive to use. The user must be able to find their way around quickly and know how to use the tool.

Functionality: The tool should have as many functions and modules as possible in order to be able to build comprehensive applications.

Enterprise features: Security, scalability and data protection are important points that are particularly relevant in a corporate context.

Conclusion

No-code and low-code are promising technologies that can help companies to work more data-driven and efficiently. Till Aufderheide brings his many years of expertise in the data sector and his enthusiasm for no-code to VisualMakers to realize this vision.
