The company Slack Technologies, Inc. is based in the USA. After the end of the Privacy Shield agreement, Slack has taken various steps to continue to comply with the GDPR guidelines. When setting up your Slack environment, you can choose on which servers your data should be stored. Among other things, servers within the EU can be selected here. Nevertheless, Slack data is processed by Amazon Web Services and transferred to the USA. When using Slack, it is recommended to conclude an order processing agreement with Slack (https://slack.com/intl/de-de/terms-of-service/data-processing).
