The No-Code for Impact Scholarship

Good ideas shouldn't fail because you can't program. With the No-Code for Impact scholarship, we want to change that. We will help you turn your impact idea into reality.

60,000€ for your impact idea

With the VisualMakers No-Code for Impact scholarship, we are pursuing the goal of realizing sustainable projects. Together with our partners, we offer a framework of €60,000 in which we develop your software, accompany you for 1 year and help your idea achieve greater reach.

The concept

We realize your idea - there are only three conditions

17 Goals

We are looking for innovative ideas for sustainable projects that can have a positive impact on the environment or society. We check the feasibility and relevance of each idea to ensure that it has the potential to be successful in the long term.

Build-in-Public

Build in public means that we share the project development publicly on VisualMakers and Digital Optimists. We want to show how quickly ideas can be implemented with the help of no-code - so that many people can learn from it.

No-code

We develop with some of the best no-code tools currently available on the market. WeWeb and Xano provide a scalable basis that can even be further developed independently by the team.

This is how it works

Our process step by step:
1.

Application by May 31

You had until May 31st to submit your application to take part in our project. Part of the application was to describe your idea, how it contributes to one of the 17 goals and your motivation to work with us as a no-code agency.
2.

Selection process

After the application deadline, the applications received will be reviewed. If your application is selected, you will be invited to an initial interview. This is where we start planning - everything from design to testing is included.
3.

Implementation

You will be involved in the implementation of the pro bono project and work together with our team on the development of the MVP and the realization of your sustainable idea. Our developers will then get straight to work and build your idea completely free of charge in build-in-public mode.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find questions that may not be entirely clear about "No-Code for Impact"
What is an impact app?
The solution we build must contribute directly to the impact and not be merely supportive. For example, an internal accounting tool does not directly contribute to impact, even if it helps you in your work. But an accounting tool that improves access to financial self-determination, for example, does. We understand the latter as an impact app.
Who can apply?
Individuals as well as companies and organizations can apply. The scholarship is primarily aimed at individuals, organizations or young companies that do not have the financial means or technical skills to build a solution themselves.
Do you have to be an NGO?
No. The aim of the grant is to promote good ideas that contribute to the UN's 17th SDGs. Whether the organization behind it is for-profit or non-profit is not decisive.
Who owns the project in the end?
At the end of development, the software is handed over and thus belongs to the organization.
Which tools are used?
We will develop with WeWeb (front-end) and Xano (back-end). These two tools support the grant and are part of our agency tech stack. In other words, the selection of tools that we also use to develop other projects.
Are the tools also free of charge?
For the development of the project we will work with WeWeb as front-end and Xano as back-end. During development, these tools are free of charge. As a partner of this scholarship, both tools will remain free of charge until one year after the project has been handed over.
What does Build in Public mean?
We will document the development process publicly. This will take the form of LinkedIn updates or YouTube videos, for example. The purpose is for other people and organizations to learn that implementing their ideas is more feasible than they might have thought. Sensitive information will of course be treated confidentially.
Why are you doing this?
We want to help democratize tech. No-Code plays an important role in this by giving millions of people the opportunity to finally build their own software without being able to program. But millions are not enough. We want as many people as possible to get to know No-Code and find out what it can do for them. Because good ideas shouldn't fail because you can't program.

With this scholarship, we want to achieve two things. 1. directly help an organization and its good cause and 2. get reach so that others can also see that they can implement their impact ideas thanks to No-Code.
How can we participate in the development?
We will need to be in close contact during the course of development. We therefore expect at least one dedicated person from the team to take on the project from your side. This involvement mainly concerns agreements on progress and the input we need.
Can I develop the project myself later?
Yes, upon completion you will have access to the project and will be able to add changes and enhancements yourself. We will support you for 12 months. Even though WeWeb and Xano are not the easiest no-code solutions, these powerful tools can be mastered faster than code. This will enable you and your team to take over further development.
What is included in the scholarship?
Included are the development of the solution, access to 3 no-code masterclasses from VisualMakers, access to a course from Digital Optimists, 12 months access to no-code coaching from VisualMakers, 12-month licenses for WeWeb and Xano as well as marketing for your project via Digital Optimists and VisualMakers.
