Integromat was on the market for just under 10 years: The iPaas platform was founded in Prague in 2012 by the three developers Ondrej Gazda, Patrik Simek and Michal Toman. A lot has happened since then: In 2020, Integromat was acquired by the German Unicorn Celonis and since then the platform has developed immensely.

In order to be prepared for a global market including enterprise-capable offers, some adjustments had to be made. After more than a year of development, it is finally here:

Make* is the new flagship platform at Celonis. With a more scalable architecture and some exciting new features, it not only improves performance but also ensures more stability. Find out more about the Journey in our podcast episode with Fabian Veit, COO of Make.

For the sworn Integromat fans: Don't worry, the intuitive interface with the module bubbles remains.

But you should definitely take a look at these new functions:

More scalable architecture

Make is hosted on the Amazon Web Services Cloud Platform (AWS) and has a completely new architecture to be more powerful and scalable. As a user, you are centrally managed and can now also choose whether your app is hosted in the US or the EU in certain plans.

Horizontal scaling allows Make to increase performance faster for the entire platform, resulting in better stability and availability of the product.

Roles and teams

With Make, you can now create teams and roles for your users and thus manage access to your scenarios and folders.

This new feature allows you to:

  • Create new templates for yourself and share them privately with your team.
  • Publish your templates so that other Make teams and organisations can access them.
  • With the permission of the Make Team, you can make your templates publicly available in the public library.
  • Customise your templates with defined wizard steps to help first-time users get started.

Parallel webhooks

Webhook-initiated scenarios can be executed in parallel and immediately in Make, which enables better responsiveness to incoming requests. You can still enable sequential processing of webhooks and set preference in the scenario settings.

Webhook queues are now displayed in the same browser window and have the additional option of selecting multiple incoming messages and then deleting all messages at once.

Full text search in the history

The full text search for the Scenario History makes finding the right Scenario Execution much easier and troubleshooting more effective.

Now you can search the execution history of a single scenario for any term used in any response of any module.

Make REST API

The Make REST API allows you both automated access to Make data and control of the Make platform. You don't even have to open the graphical interface.

This allows you to embed Make functions in your software, add functions to the platform and automate the tasks you perform in Make. The API also allows you to interact with multiple Make resources:

  • More than 300 endpoints to start/stop scenarios, manage teams and users, data stores and more
  • Authentication with tokens in a proper scope
  • Full control over the platform

What happens to Integromat?

Don't panic - Integromat will continue to exist for the time being and your accounts will continue to run. However, Integromat will become a legacy product and support will cease at the end of 2023.

If you already have an Integromat account, you don't have to do anything at first. In the course of the year, you will have time to easily migrate all scenarios to Make with the help of a migration tool. If you need help with this, we are here for you!

When you upgrade to Make, you pay the same amount as you did before, thanks to the 'Legacy' price plan. This plan is the same as the Core plan in Make - plus it gives you all the new features of Make. Only when you select a new plan, i.e. upgrade or downgrade, do you end up in one of Make's pricing plans.

In general, Make will be slightly more expensive than Integromat - if you look at the pricing based purely on the number of operations. However, Make adds some new features and the pricing is no longer based only on the number of operations - but is calculated by a combination of the number of operations and features.

Ready to scale

Make is definitely a further development of the popular iPaas platform Integromat. With its new, more scalable architecture and features such as role administration, which are especially important for larger companies, Make is definitely ready for a global market. With new features like the Make API and the OEM Solution (which we will discuss later), completely new possibilities open up in the no-code automation universe.
